The World Federation of Chiropractic
defines chiropractic as "A health profession
concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and
prevention of mechanical disorders of the
musculoskeletal system, and the effects of these
disorders on the function of the nervous system and
general health. There is an emphasis on manual
treatments including spinal manipulation or
adjustment."
In these
days of 'wellness', wherein the emphasis is on
health and not disease, Chiropractic is at the
forefront of the healthcare professions. Prevention
is always better than cure and we know as
chiropractic clinicians that regular checkups keep
the musculoskeletal and nervous system in peak
condition. Hence we can 'short circuit' problems
from the beginning or at least pick up signs of
impending problems so that early intervention can be
undertaken.
Chiropractic therapy in this clinic has been
tailored for a wide variety of patients'
requirements. We utilise manual therapy with a
strong emphasis on treating the muscular system at
the same time. For some of our other patients used
to a gentler technique we utilize pelvic blocking or
activator therapy. |
